M2M technology or Machine-to-Machine technology is creeping into many facets of the business world today and in fact some businesses may not even identify with the technology but more so with the applications. Most businesses however are familiar with terms such as asset tracking, monitoring, digital signage, telematics, automation, fleet management, and smart grid. All of these areas or terms are heavily enveloped in the M2M technology market, and are expected to be major drivers of M2M investment over the next decade.
Compass Intelligence will continue to monitor this market across the business market, looking at the technology across size of business, across industry, and across application. A reflection on last year's survey feedback on M2M (June and November 2011) with more than 2.5K business decision-makers is shown below. In terms of businesses investigating M2M, roughly 38% said this is true. Interestingly and as expected, when you look at the results by size of business, larger businesses are more likely investigating M2M, with more than half of enterprise businesses (1000+ employees) saying this was true.
Regarding your role as a decision-maker for your company/organization, please answer True or False to each of the following statements.
